Godzilla Vs Kong 2020 Gets a Director
Well that was unexpected! Just announced, the director for the godliest monster showdown will be none other than Adam Wingard. Seeing as he was the director behind some of my top films over the last couple years, You're Next and The Guest, and has also directed Netflix's upcoming Deathnote adaption, I feel like this could not be a more interesting and totally surprising choice!
We know he has the chops and a unique style to boot, but this will be the largest movie he's worked on. Being a fan of the 2014 Godzilla and the recent Kong Skull Island I can say he will have quite a bit of pressure from pretty much everyone though it's comforting to see a familiar name behind the release and seeing as his track record hasn't been too shabby, I can't wait to see how he pulls this off. Not only that but in the writers room we have scribes Terry Rossio of the Pirates franchise, Patrick McKay and J.D. Payne who co-wrote Star Trek Beyond and a few others, so it would appear thus far that we're in good hands. We are quite a ways off from seeing this release as it will come after Godzilla: King of the Monsters set for 2019 and won't hit theaters until May 2020.
On a side note does anyone else find these colored smoke images used in the marketing and the movies super interesting?
