Celebrate Thanksgiving With Your Favorite Shows!

We've all been there. The family holiday chaos carnival that is Thanksgiving. Who's bringing what? You burnt it! Don't talk politics! It's easy to lose focus of what's important when you get so many blood-related personalities under one roof. So here are a few tv show episodes you can distract yourself with but still get all that holiday glory.

Bob's Burgers - Just trust when we say they make some of the best Thanksgiving episodes ever conceived. Check out Thanks-Hoarding, Thrkey In A Can, An Indecent Thanksgiving Proposal, Dawn of the Peck, or the Quirckducers. I believe they're all still on Hulu.

Friends - While Friends is one of the most popular sitcoms of all time, still with a sizable fan base, new comers or less avid watchers may have forgotten one of the most classic Thanksgiving scenes ever. There are several Thanksgiving episodes in this show but Season 5 Episode 8 is where the gold is. Stream it on Netflix!

The Simpsons- No need to explain ourselves here. It's the Simpsons and it involves the holidays. Bart Vs Thanksgiving (Season 2, episode 7) is however a very old episode so be ready for an animation quality shock! Also be sure to watch the Wettest Stories Ever Told (Season 17, Episode 18) to see their reselling of the first thanksgiving.

Saturday Night Live - This show has been around for so long no one really knows how many episodes there are in existence. Because of that, there are so many Thanksgiving episodes to pick from. Because I'm a millennial I'm gonna go with my two favorite recent episodes, Target Commercial and Kristin Wiig's Thanksgiving Foods.

Community - This show, if you haven't seen it yet, is written by the hilarious Dan Harmon (also the creator of Rick and Morty and Harmon Quest) and stars many fantastic actors including, Donald Glover and Chevy Chase. Cooperative Escapism in Familial Relations (season 4 episode 5) is amazing. Check it out on Hulu.

South Park - Another long runnning cartoon with plenty of options. The one I always come back to is Hellen Keller The Musical (Season 4 Episode 13.) It aired back when South Park was still in its prime, taking original ideas into account. It also introduced us to Gobbles! Highly recommended.

Black Books - In my opinion this is one of the most underrated shows of all time. It stars Dylan Moran, Bill Bailey and Tamsin Greig and is a hilarious British comedy about a depressed narcissist who runs a book store. Check out my review here! In Season 2 Episode 3, Titled Blood, (while not exactly about Thanksgiving) Fran discovers she has distant relatives that live nearby and arranges to meet them at a family dinner. The meeting goes to hell and the family interactions drive her insane! Sound familiar?

So there you have it. Some of my Thanksgiving show recommendations. I garuntee there are hundreds more I could add to this list. What are some of your recommendations? Leave them in the comments below! Have a happy holiday.
